Meandered through DC yesterday with my friend.

Started off at Eastern Market, where we grabbed empanadas and the best freaking Banana milkshake I've ever had in my life.  Check out Goodies! New bracelet.

On the way to the National Mall, we got sidetracked at Labyrinth, where I got Tzolk'in and a Hooey Stick.  Noticed the crazy architecture of the National Museum of the American Indian building along the way.  Hung out near there, figuring out the Hooey magic and eating asian candy.

Walked from there to Georgetown, where I bought some comfortable shoes since my flats were killing me.  Then we had tapas for the first time at Bodega... so SO duricious.  I chose the Gambas al Ajillo (Shrimp in Garlic) and Dátiles con Tocino (Crispy Fried Dates Wrapped in Bacon), and both were fantastic.  Used the bread they gave to soak up the sauce from the shrimp.  Managed to avoid the rain while in there.  Spotted fountains on the way to the Rosslyn metro station (which has the third longest continuous span escalator in the world) in order to head back and it took every ounce of self-control not to run through and ruin my dress.  Got to see the Potomac River from the Key Bridge along the way.  Does anyone know why people hang locks on bridges?

Got back and stopped by a Harris Teeter for gummy bears and jalapeno pickle spears (Hairy Teats is the only place that seems to carry them).  Got super excited for the pickles.  Then began to learn how to spin poi.  Not very well, but a decent first effort.  Talked about Bane impressions that began as poorly executed Sean Connery impressions and "Death metal Batman."  LOL!!!  Interrupted when the sprinklers suddenly went off and while running away, I dropped my pickles.  Bahaha! SO clumsy!

Sweated all day.  Hotter than the sun's taint...
